Learn about safe computing on your Microsoft Windows computer.

Background

Students should be familiar with their operating system XP, Vista or Windows7.

• Windows Updater
• Anti-virus programs
• Firewalls and internet security.
• Windows Defender.
• Security Centre.
• Automatic security updating and scanning

Skills Required

A knowledge of basic skills is essential; completion of most Level 1 courses or (equivalent experience) is desirable.

Software Required

Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or Windows7 with an anti-virus program also installed. Occasionally we will run separate courses for each version of Windows; this will depend on the number of students with different Windows versions. Please check the stream code at the start of the course dates.
