Photobooks - (level 3) [Course 155]

Two 2.5 hour class for $20

Outline

We had a preparatory session on Tuesday afternoon 29 October for set-up and checking time. Anyone wanting to join this workshop will need to contact the tutor for set up details. Please read the prescription below so that you know what is needed to start this project. The project is to create a personalised Photobook to celebrate special occasions and life stories. Using special software you can upload photos directly from your computer, design you own layout, add captions or even write a story. These books can range from simple picture books to large "coffee table" productions and life histories.

Topics Covered Include

Skills Required

Basic skills with text and graphics are necessary. You will start and/or continue your project at the workshop on Wednesday 13 November, 9.30am and you can stay until 1.30pm even though the heading says otherwise! You can finish your project at your leisure having learnt all about it, or a second workshop session can be arranged if necessary.

Hardware Required

Your laptop and charger with all your photos loaded into a special folder for your photobook. This should hold copies of those photos that may/will be stored in other folders in your Windows system Picture folder. Or you could copy the required photos from a phone, a camera, a USB Drive or a CD Rom (if your laptop can do that!).

Software Required

The software is unique to the photobook company; it is fairly straight forward to use, but a good computer knowledge is desirable for a happy experience designing your photobooks.

Notes

It is important to note that your PhotoBook file is tied to the installed program on the computer you work on. You must use your laptop to do this course at SNEB and you must continue to use it when you continue working on the PhotoBook at home.
