Using the Keyboard (level 1)

This course follows from the Getting Started session for beginners in computing. You have learnt to use the mouse. Now learn about the keyboard and its special keys.

Background

Those who already know the keyboard from their typist days do have a real head start!

Topics Covered Include

• Revision of the Boot up, the desktop, shut down procedure and mouse functions.
• The mouse I Beam
• The Insertion point/Cursor used in all text editing programs
• Some special keys on the keyboard
• Selecting text and deleting it
• the Undo command

Software Required

You will learn how these keys manipulate text and we will do this within the email program by composing an email.
