A healthy secure computer is a happy computer and that makes a happy computer user! You will learn to make your computer work more efficiently, how to handle some faults and to increase the security of your files. But most important you will learn Backup techniques using external storage of your files to prevent soul destroying loss of work.

Background

Students should be familiar with the Microsoft operating system of their computer.

• Procedures for improving performance with XP, Vista, or Windows7.
• Computer architecture and specifications.
• Task Manager: CPU and memory utilisation, fixing frozen programs.
• System Restore; fixing registry problems.
• Security of files,
• Password protection.
• Internet security.
• Backup techniques.

It is essential to be very proficient with the computer Skills covered in Level 1 & 2.
